If you ask those whose hair is falling out and who are experiencing early baldness about their treatments, 95% will say they are not satisfied with the treatments they received!
A report from the New York Times revealed that the benefits Americans get from spending millions of dollars on hair treatments are minimal and mostly temporary. Essentially, the hair treatment industry sells million-dollar “hope”! We spend money buying ‘hope’—hoping it might work somehow!
For men, the main cause of early hair loss is the excessive accumulation of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the hair follicles on the scalp. The two FDA-approved drugs widely used to prevent hair loss are Minoxidil, which improves blood circulation to the hair roots, and Finasteride, which blocks the production of DHT. However, daily spraying Minoxidil twice is difficult, and its effectiveness is not guaranteed for everyone. Finasteride, on the other hand, has been less popular due to its risk of affecting sexual desire.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) has gained popularity for hair loss treatment recently. Many might not know that the FDA has not yet approved PRP as a medication for hair transplantation. Despite its cost, people now consider this treatment effective.
- Does Cupping Help with Hair Growth?
Many people ask if there is any connection between cupping (Hijama) and hair growth. Various cupping points on the head are used for different diseases. Since we perform cupping for various ailments, we have also done cupping on the head for related conditions in different patients!
According to the patients, hair growth in those areas where cupping was done seems to be quicker, and the rate of hair loss in the surrounding areas has significantly decreased!
Theoretically, cupping has a significant contribution to hair growth. We have been certain of this for a long time! The way cupping works is truly promising!
1. In Androgenic Alopecia, the causative pathologic substance is DHT (Dihydrotestosterone). In each cupping session, a large amount of DHT is removed with the cupping blood from the affected area of the scalp. This is an example of the excretory benefit of cupping.
2. Moreover, nitric oxide, produced through cupping, is a potent vasodilator, promoting healthy local blood circulation.
- Why Consider Cupping for Hair Loss?
Seeing the failure or uncertainty of all conventional hair treatment methods, we had no intention of bringing cupping into this. One reason is that this Sunnah treatment has already established its reliability among our patients in various diseases, and we wanted to maintain that. However, we later thought, if it helps someone, why not give it a try?
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said Hijama is the best treatment. So why not for hair treatment?
- Benefits of Hijama:
1. It targets two pathological issues simultaneously, offering hope to avoid the daily hassle of shampoos, lotions, and sprays.
2. Compared to PRP, Hijama is much more affordable.
3. Being part of Prophetic Medicine, Hijama is completely safe.
4. Choosing a Sunnah treatment brings spiritual benefits and rewards.
5. Cupping on the head is highly beneficial for headaches or relaxation, even if taken for hair treatment, these are added benefits.
- Cupping Session Plan:
– Total sessions: 4
– Second session 15 days after the first.
– Third session one month after the second.
– Fourth session exactly one month after the third.
– Afterward, Hijama/cupping can be done every three months or every six months depending on the response.
- Things to Keep in Mind:
1. Maintain a logical expectation. Response varies from person to person! It largely depends on the existing damage to the hair follicles. Don’t expect a huge amount of hair immediately after cupping! Cupping boosts natural growth. Therefore, do not expect artificial changes like hair transplantation.
2. Have the mindset to follow the treatment schedule. Do not stop treatment midway. Plan accordingly.
3. One good thing about Hijama is that it has no side effects, unlike medications! Hence, you can rely on cupping for a long time without hesitation. There is no hassle of daily hair care.
Therefore, those who are exhausted with hair treatments can choose this Sunnah treatment method. We believe that compared to any other treatment method, cupping/Hijama will seem much more effective and easier for you.
