In the Holy Quran, Almighty Allah (Exalted be His Majesty) has said:
كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ
Translation: “You are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind. You enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and believe in Allah.” (Holy Al Imran, Holy Ayah 110)
By virtue, the Muslim nation is the best of all human races, not only in terms of spirituality but also in its contributions to all beneficial aspects of the world—whether in social transactions, the construction of civilization, or the theories and applications of science. Therefore, Muslims have no reason to feel inferior. The inferiority complex present among some so-called Muslims arises mainly from ignorance. This ignorance and weakness are a result of centuries-old schemes devised by hostile forces among certain Jews and Christians.
To overcome this inferiority, one must study the blessed life of Nur-e-Mujassam, Beloved Habibullah (Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him), the pure lives of Ahle Bait (the Prophet’s family, peace be upon them), the noble Companions (Sahaba, may Allah be pleased with them), the lives of the revered Awliya (saints, may Allah have mercy on them), as well as the contributions of Muslim physicians, scientists, and technologists. Without this knowledge, it is challenging to escape the distorted view of history presented to the world by hostile forces following the last crusade. This distorted narrative also extends to the history of science and knowledge.
To uproot this distortion, Sani Mujaddid-e-Azam Sayyiduna Hazrat Khalifat-ul-Umam (peace be upon him) undertook a blessed mission to unveil the hidden and forgotten history of scientific contributions by Muslims to the world, with the proclamation that “All science is, in fact, the contribution of Muslims.”
In a noble Hadith, Nur-e-Mujassam, Beloved Habibullah (Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) said:
اَلْعِلْمُ إِمَامُ الْعَمَلِ
Translation: “Knowledge is the leader of actions.”
Actions reflect the level of knowledge. This is why the Prophet (peace be upon him) established the first mosque-based education system. Initially, he set up this system in Dar al-Arqam, and after the Hijra (migration), in Masjid al-Nabawi, where the Holy Quran’s revelations would be conveyed to the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), who would then learn and practice its teachings.
Wherever a new mosque was built in the blessed city of Madinah or in any surrounding tribe, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would send his esteemed companions to teach the Holy Quran and provide guidance. Thus, the foundations of mosque-centered education were established during the blessed life of Nur-e-Mujassam, Beloved Habibullah (peace be upon him). During his lifetime, there were nine mosques in Madinah. The dawah (call to Islam) began around twelve years before the Hijra, and gradually, it spread from China to Spain.
